Canada mad cow case blames bad feed
An official investigation into Canada's 13th case of mad cow disease said infected feed was most likely to blame – the same reason given in many previous cases. The animal, a five-year-old dairy cow from a farm in British Columbia, was identified in June 2008. Since then, an additional instance of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) has been discovered in Canada. more

Academy for Ranch Management announces burn workshops in 2009
The Academy for Ranch Management will host two prescribed burn
workshops in 2009 at the Texas AgriLife Research Station at Sonora. The basic workshop is scheduled for Feb. 19-21 and the advanced workshop is scheduled for March 5-7. Prescribed burning is a tool that can be used to manage rangeland vegetation for livestock and wildlife use. more
